Scabies Rash
Scabies is an intensely pruritic and highly contagious infestation of the skin caused
by a mite affecting humans and other animals. Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis is the
etiologic agent causing human scabies. It lives its entire life on the human host. A
variant of scabies is canine scabies, in which humans become infected from pets, mainly
dogs. Canine scabies (ie, mange) causes patchy loss of hair and itching in affected pets |
