Footdrop Picture
|
Footdrop is the inability to raise the front part of your foot due to weakness or
paralysis in the muscles that normally lift the foot. This impairs walking. People with
footdrop may drag the toe of their shoe on the ground or may only walk on the heel of the
affected foot. |
|
Foot drop is caused by weakness or paralysis of the muscles below the knee
involved in lifting the front part of the foot. The underlying causes of foot
drop are varied. Often, neurological, muscular and anatomical problems overlap. | |
