Cellutitis is an inflammation of body tissue (especially that below the skin) characterized by fever and swelling and redness and pain.
Causes include

  • Trauma
  • Infections that sometimes occur as a complication of a surgical procedure
    Any breaks in the skin that allow bacteria to invade the skin (examples are chronic skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis)
  • Foreign objects in the skin
  • Spider bites
